For the last couple of days, I have been listening to Beth's wonderful and oh so timely teaching on Psalm 37 called "Dealing with the Thieves of Delight".
One of the many things that she said that stood out to me was that it is our right to delight in Him. And that nobody takes that from us unless we give it away. And I have given it away...time and time again for the last 6 or 7 years.
Today was another one of those days, when had I not heard that amazing teaching I would hae given it away. Instead I have decided to post my verses of the day...
"Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.... If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken" (Psalm 37:4-8, 23-25)
Now I definitely know why I was so hung up on that Psalm for the last 4 days. :)
